PATIENT GUIDE · DUBAI
Radiesse or hyaluronic acid filler?
The word filler covers products with different materials and treatment characteristics. Comparing them begins with the area being assessed and the change you want to discuss.
Different materials
Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite. Hyaluronic acid fillers use a different material and come in formulations selected for different purposes. They are not interchangeable simply because both can be considered for selected volume or contour concerns.
Ask why a product is recommended
Discuss the intended area, the formulation and previous procedures. Ask whether the main goal is volume, contour or skin quality and how the proposed product fits that goal. Your preferences about recovery, follow up and the ability to manage an unwanted result should be part of the conversation.
Reversibility matters
Hyaluronic acid filler may be treated with hyaluronidase when clinically appropriate, although this is another medical intervention with its own limitations and risks. Radiesse is not dissolved by that enzyme. Ask the doctor to explain alternatives and complication management before choosing a product.
